Sable Kitchen & Bar is welcoming award-winning whisky legend, Dave Broom, for an extra special “Whisky Tasting, Brunch & Book Signing” on Sunday, October 26!


Author Dave Broom’s The World Atlas of Whisky has been hailed as one of the greatest whisky books ever written. In conjunction with the launch of his newest foray, The World of Atlas of Whisky 2nd Edition, Dave will host a “Whisky Tasting, Brunch & Book Signing” at Sable Kitchen & Bar on Sunday, October 26, from 12-2pm. Dave will guide guests through the global flavors of eight whisky tastings, also available at Sable, including amber spirits such as Nikka Coffey Grain, Green Spot and Amrut Khadambam. Following the tasting, guests will indulge in a delectable brunch prepared by Executive Chef Heather Terhune and the floor will be open for an informal Q&A and book signing. After being welcomed with a bubbly cocktail crafted by Head Bartender Mike Ryan, the Saturday afternoon will continue to sparkle with a pours of Cuvee Brut and Rose Sauvage Champagne. Each of the four flutes will be paired with a decadent dessert whipped up by Chef Heather. More details below…

Kimpton’s five Chicago restaurants invite you on a culinary journey across the city with the introduction of the Kimpton Chicago Restaurant Passport. Dine at Sable Kitchen & Bar, South Water Kitchen, Encore Lunch Club & Liquid Lounge, Atwood Café and 312 Chicago to receive a stamp for each entrée purchased. Once guests fill their passport with one stamp from each restaurant, they are entered into a sweepstakes for amazing prizes like a five-course dinner at Atwood Cafe with an overnight stay at Kimpton’s historic Hotel Burnham or brunch for six prepared by Bravo Top Chef alum Chef Heather Terhune at Sable Kitchen & Bar.

Simply request a Passport upon the first visit to any Kimpton Chicago restaurant. At each subsequent restaurant visit, request a stamp for ordering one entrée. Once one stamp for each restaurant has been obtained, submit the completed Passport to a server, host or manager. Or go digital: simply post pictures of each entrée to the Foodspotting app for a digital stamp. Once one entrée from each restaurant has been “spotted,” the user will automatically be entered into the drawing.
